Holland has a rich museum culture and similarly to the Germany trip this visit deepens the students’ knowledge of the history of modern and contemporary art in Continental Europe. We visit the famous curatorial study programme De Appel Arts Centre in Amsterdam, BAK (Basis Voor Actuele Kunst) in Utrecht, the cutting-edge Witte de With Centre for Contemporary Art in Rotterdam and the van Abbe Museum in Eindhoven. What is unique about this study trip is the variety of institutions we encounter, many of which are introduced to us by their curators.
