Joanne Kesten

Joanne Kesten is an art advisor and appraiser based in New York. She earned a BA in Art History from McGill University, an MEd in Psychology from the University of Virginia, an MA in Art History from Hunter College, and her Certificate of Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) from New York University. Kesten has taught and lectured at several institutions, including NYU, Georgetown University, The Cooper Union, Parsons, the Worcester Art Museum and the Whitney Museum of American Art. Her writing has been published in The Portraits Speak: Chuck Close in Conversation with 27 of His Subjects, and Joan Miro: Two Early Works. Kesten’s professional affiliations include the Appraisers Association of America, the American Alliance of Museums, and ArtTable.
