Hillary Burchfield is an arts professional with experience in private sales, events and exhibition management, executive search and organizational strategy. She is also a practicing artist whose work has been exhibited in both public and private spaces throughout the country. She was educated at Vanderbilt University, where she received a BA in English & History with a minor in Studio Art, and Sotheby’s Institute of Art, where she received her MA in Art Business. Following this, she worked at Kasmin gallery, where she helped launch the PK Shop, and then at Gagosian, where she held various roles working on notable private sales, exhibitions, and events for six years. In 2018, Hillary launched an arts recruitment firm, through which she consults leading global arts organizations on hiring and organizational strategy and structure. She serves as a career mentor to many young arts professionals, and has participated in panels and speaker series for organizations including YFA at Sotheby’s Institute of Art (2019), Christie’s Education (2019), and ArtTable (2020).
