Laura Ballman

Laura Ballman is a geopolitical professional who offers clients a global perspective developed during two decades working across four continents in media, intelligence and business.

Today she is a Washington-based consultant who leads complex international strategies, operations and relationships, for private- and public-sector clients. Previously she was a senior advisor at Deloitte, the world's largest business consulting firm,

During her government career, Laura served as a U.S. intelligence officer, including multiple overseas tours as a Central Intelligence Agency Operations Officer before leading a Counterintelligence Division for the Department of Energy and National Laboratories Complex. She also completed a tour with the Federal Bureau of Investigation leading intelligence for a transnational organized crime program.

Laura started her career as a journalist with the Associated Press, CNN, the Economist Group and other media, including while living in Kyiv in the mid-1990s.

Laura holds an MA in International Affairs (with honors) from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and an MA in Art Business from Sotheby's Institute of Art. She also holds a BA in History (with honors) from the University of Minnesota.

She is a frequent geopolitical guest commentator on cable news networks.
