Emily A. Thompson has 20+ years of experience in art market research and valuation, having worked as a Fine Art Specialist and Art Advisor at Emigrant Bank Fine Art Finance and as a modern and contemporary appraiser for the Internal Revenue Service.
Ms. Thompson has worked as a Senior Fine Art Appraiser at companies in the industry valuing thousands of artworks for the purpose of future planning, art financing, insurance coverage and litigation support. She is a member of the Professional Advisors to the International Art Market (PAIAM) and maintains board member positions with The Phi Beta Kappa Society of New York and The Estate Planner's Council of New York. She is a Certified Member of the Appraiser’s Association of America (AAA) specializing in post-war, contemporary and emerging art, a former corporate member of the Association of Professional Art Advisors (APAA) and graduated cum laude from Hobart and William Smith Colleges with a BA in Art History, and holds a MA in Arts Administration from New York University.
