I can’t quite believe that 2018 will be my fourth year running the Sotheby’s Institute of Art Summer Study in New York. In this time, our summer programs have expanded to 18 courses ranging from art finance to luxury. After thirty years working in art galleries and as an advisor, I can confidently say that it has never been a better time to spend the summer with Sotheby’s Institute, immersed in New York City’s art world. Please join the Summer Study webinar on May 24 at 1:00 pm EST to hear more about why, and to ask any questions you might have.
When I design the curriculum for our 2 and 4-week courses, I think of the best experience possible, crafted from a combination of in-class lectures, site visits, and guest speakers. This provides our international student body with unique privileged access to both art venues and the expertise of practicing art professionals. Learning is serious fun whether it’s taking place in an artist’s studio, behind-the-scenes at Sotheby’s auction house, or in our classroom, with wonderful contacts and lasting friendships made along the way.
Each summer, New York City teems with spectacular museum and gallery exhibitions, art installations and events, as well as the best of culture including dance, music, and theater. Not to mention the great food from all over the world! Best of all, it is all accessible from our beautiful, newly renovated campus in the heart of Midtown Manhattan.
