In support of Ukraine, Sunflower Collective proudly presented an evening of fundraising at Chelsea College of Arts, University Arts London, on May 27.
Sotheby’s MA Contemporary Arts students and last year’s alumni collaborated with Fine Art students at Chelsea College of Art and Design to raise funds for humanitarian relief in the Ukraine through the Sunflower Collective, as the students have called their association. The Sunflower Collective will hosted a charity auction in London on May 27, which was held at Chelsea College of Arts with otheby’s Institute alumni Somers Gerson (MACA 2020-2021) handling the gavel.
The student activists from Chelsea College and Sotheby’s Institute formed the Sunflower Collective to lead a response to the crisis, which began on the 24 February 2022 when Russia launched an unprovoked invasion of Ukraine. The cultural evening not only urgently supported Ukraine, but programmed full live performances and talks, including Dominic Page, with a silent auction and a raffle of art made by more than fifty of London’s most promising emerging artists.
