Leo Crane is a producer, artist and educator. For 25 years, he has bridged physical and digital industries, founding three creative studios and, in 2024, establishing the AI Film Academy. Throughout his career, he has forged long-standing relationships with cultural institutions, including V&A and Sotheby’s Institute, where he leads courses in art and art business, as well as Animate Projects, where he serves on the board.
As an artist, Leo's work includes animated films in charcoal and watercolour, figurative fine art, and the first ever live opera on the blockchain. He is currently producing his first feature film The Masterpiece of Tamagata. His work has been widely exhibited, screened, performed and published, winning multiple awards.
Leo studied painting with Maggi Hambling CBE and is the author of Contemporary Figures in Watercolour (Batsford Books, 2021).
