Tianyuan Deng

Adjunct Faculty, Sotheby's Institute of Art, New York

Tianyuan Deng is an art historian and writer based in New York who is currently finishing her Ph.D. at the Institute of Fine Arts, NYU. Her translation of Thomas Crow's "The Rise of the Sixties: American and European Art in the Era of Dissent" (Yale University Press, 1996) was published in China in 2020. Her writing has appeared in Artforum, Art Agenda, Leap, Ocula, among others. She is the recipient of the dissertation grant awarded by the Metropolitan Center for Far Eastern Art Studies in Kyoto in 2021. She holds a B.A. in art history from the University of Chicago and a M.A. in curatorial studies from Columbia University in New York.
