Week 1: Discover the foundations and key definitions of contemporary art.
Week 2: Understand art world ecology through a look at art world models and global platforms.
Week 3: Explore the roles of key institutions and players in the non-profit arena.
Week 4: Examine the functions and roles of for-profit institutions in the primary and secondary art markets.
Week 5: Understand the roles and motivations of private, corporate, and institutional collectors and collections.
Week 6: Explore the role of artists as well as their career trajectories and value within the market.
This flexible online course is delivered in weekly modules consisting of recorded lectures, instructor-guided discussion boards, and supplementary resources. The course will include a final project with personalized feedback from the course instructor. All participants will have read-only access to the course materials for an additional 90 days after the course end date.
