Carmen Melian

Carmen Melián has more than a twenty-five-year career in the international art world and  is recognized as a leading specialist in Latin American Art. Ms. Melián was the director of the Nohra Haime Gallery, one of New York’s premier galleries for Latin American Art from 1983–1994.

Subsequently, she worked as an advisor and consultant before joining Sotheby’s New York as a director and senior specialist in the Latin American art department, covering works of art produced over the past 500 years and originating in more than 15 countries.

She was key in organizing, sourcing, selling, and marketing biannual auctions, generating more than $50 million in annual sales.
