Celine Stiris

Dr. Céline Stiris is a lecturer and researcher in marketing, including branding, strategy and communication with a particular expertise in luxury. She completed her Ph.D. degree at the University of Kingston, UK, in the field of consumer behaviour, on the topic ” Customising gifts for oneself and others: the impact of anxiety and perceived design skill on customer value dimensions and the effect of complexity”. She is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA). Previously, Celine obtained a master’s degree in European Law at the University of La Sorbonne in Paris and a triple-accredited master’s in business at ESCP Business School (Madrid-Oxford stream).

Prior to joining academics, Céline spent more than a decade in new product development and brand management roles at top luxury and cosmetics Maisons : Hermès, Piaget (Richemont), Guerlain (L.V.M.H), Issey Miyake and Paul Smith in Europe, Middle East, and China.

Céline has taught marketing and branding courses at esteemed Universities (Kingston, Richmond, Queen’s Mary, and Southampton) and business schools in London (LBS, ESCP Business School) and Paris (Institut Français de la Mode) for many years. She now puts her rich industry experience and network at the service of students, using real-life examples and inviting inspirational guest speakers from the industry.

Her fields of research include consumer behaviour and consumer psychology, product customisation, sustainability and ethics in the contexts of luxury and fashion. She was recently invited to present her research at international conferences such as the European Marketing Academy Conference (EMAC, Odense 2023) and at the Monaco Symposium on Luxury (2025).
