Leslie Camhi

Leslie Camhi is an essayist whose writings on design, art, literature, and women’s lives, including her own life and travels, appear regularly in numerous publications, including The New York Times, Vogue, and The New Yorker. A frequent contributor to art museum catalogs, she also holds a doctorate in Comparative Literature from Yale, with scholarly publications on hysteria, kleptomania, and 19th-century French medical photography. Her first translation, from the French, of Violaine Huisman’s The Book of Mother was long-listed for the 2022 International Booker Prize.
