Magnus Renfrew is a cultural entrepreneur and writer with over 20 years’ experience in the international art world. April 27, 5pm: The Rise of the Hong Kong Art Market - Collectors, Museums, and Auctions in the 20th Century

Taking the trading of Chinese art as its focus, this lecture offers insight into the phenomenal rise of the Hong Kong art market in the 20th century. The eventful period between the 1950s and 1990s saw the emergence of influential collecting societies, museums, dealer galleries, and auction houses that established this former British colony as a leading global hub in the art market today.
